Ural Refinery prioritizes employee and contractor health and safety, and we foster a proactive health and safety culture within the company. QHSE training and processes are rigorous and held to an international standard. There are activities at the Ural Refinery that could cause a lot of injuries. In Kazakhstan in 2022, there were two (two) lost time events involving Ural Refinery employees and one of the contractors. In accordance with our HSE processes, all occurrences were investigated, their causes determined, and corrective action plans developed.
In 2022, the Contractor HSE Performance Procedure was distributed to all Contract Owners and C&P, and every day when they log in, a pop-up window with a safety notification from the QHSE department appears on their screens, and HSE Posters were printed and posted in all visible locations. Monthly QHSE Reports are generated and delivered to all company employees in order to communicate HSE Performance.
Inside the original medical and preventive center’s walls, inpatient and professional examination services are still available, and in the new structure, Ural Refinery employees, their families, and other patients can receive outpatient, dental, clinical diagnostic assistance, drug supply, day hospital, and medical rehabilitation services, as well as 24-hour call service, consultations, and treatment. Professionals from the Mangistau region and other parts of the country participate in Medicare Plus, which helps to improve service quality and expertise sharing among specialists due to a shortage of highly skilled medical personnel in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The impact of equipment failure on related risk is used to determine the appropriate maintenance strategy type versus the criticality of the equipment. Maintenance can be prioritized and key systems can be reported on in the event of a resource shortage. Devices, equipment, or systems that are required to keep process conditions within safe operating limits or whose purpose is to keep the process from failing are referred to as safety critical elements.
