Ural Refinery quality, energy management, environmental preservation, and health and safety policies Ural Refinery is one of the largest companies in Kazakhstan’s oil and gas industry. The Ural Refinery Company’s management is aware of its obligation to ensure product quality, secure working conditions, maintain environmental sustainability, improve energy management, and make wise use of natural resources for future generations. Ural Refinery is a Kazakhstani oil and gas producing company whose activities include meeting the needs, requirements, and expectations of stakeholders, as well as implementing partnerships with suppliers and other business partners, ensuring a high level of product quality, labor safety, and the environment, and maximizing the use of energy resources.

The preservation of biological diversity is the primary goal of our company. Oil production has a significant negative impact on biodiversity, as well as the environment as a whole. The key strategy for qualitatively reducing these impacts is the widespread and methodical implementation of the best technologies and practices for the preservation of biodiversity and the natural environment as a whole.

Access to an approved list of indicator species in areas where the company has a presence or operates; public access to the findings of scientific studies and efforts to conserve biodiversity; methods for stakeholder participation in discussions on biodiversity conservation initiatives (discussion of methodology, results, etc.).

At the impact assessment stage, we identify and evaluate environmental, social, and health risks, as well as opportunities to improve our performance, for all of our projects. At the same time, production activities are accompanied by environmental monitoring that considers biodiversity and ecosystem sensitivity. The Society conducts annual flora and fauna monitoring. Observations of the state of flora and fauna at Ural Refinery facilities are conducted in accordance with the Production Environmental Control Program agreed upon with the authorized environmental protection body.
