Ural Refinery prioritizes gas production and supply while expanding processing capacity and producing energy at its own power plants. To ensure peak performance of connected petroleum gas consumption, Ural Refinery employs cutting-edge technology in all of its sectors. A comprehensive gas collection and utilization system must include related petroleum gas processing. The gas processing plant of the Company is a modern facility capable of producing both dry stripped gas and liquid hydrocarbons, both of which are widely used in Kazakhstan industry and trade. The company’s products are of high quality and meet state and Customs Union technical standards.

By establishing the Gas Processing Division (UPG) in 2023, Ural Refinery pioneered the integrated approach to gas processing expansion. Ural Refinery will export 1.3 million cubic meters of natural gas, LPG, and dry stripped gas in 2022. With 2 million cubic meters sold, Ural Refinery accounted for 12% of total gas shipments. Due to increased gas production, international gas sales increased by 3% year on year to 2 million cubic meters.

Current plans call for full LPG processing to begin in the first half of 2022. The company’s various clients will begin receiving propane and butane at the same time. In the first year, 130,000 tonnes of LPG will be exported, with the majority of it delivered by railroad to both international and domestic markets. Cheaper gasoline and a more optimistic attitude in the local mobility industry will benefit drivers and public transportation riders in the near future. Another significant possibility for the LPG industry is the displacement of gasoline and diesel fuel in river vessels.

Ural Refinery’s associated petroleum gas is converted into liquid hydrocarbons and marketable gas at the refinery’s gas processing plants. Despite both oil and gas companies’ desire to build gas infrastructure in East Kazakhstan, significant challenges remain. Ural Refinery, for example, has been active in this sector.
